SOPAS ET can be handy in some more advanced use cases, when some more advanced visualization tools are needed
Alignment
Use SOPAS ET (the manufacturer’s setup software for the cameras) while aligning the camera, you will get a better feedback.
Place an object at the “Aiming spot” position inside the test area.
You can use the IR frame in SOPAS to align the center of the frame with the object placed at the “Aiming spot”.
This should result in the camera having close to the 23° required. Please double check the angle if you can.
Filter tweaking
You can also use SOPAS ET to more easily tune the onboard camera filters.
- disable binning
- disable “edge correction” filter
- start with all filters disabled, except distance filter set to a range of 4m to 9m (this will discard any data outside of this range
- to deal with noise, the 2 filters to try out first will be “isolated pixel filter” and “reemission filter”, in this order
When you have found good filter parameters, write them down so we can enter them in the source settings of the Augmenta app.
Raw sensor data recording
The SOPAS ET app allows to record raw sensor data, this could help in case the RAS is not able to find good enough filter settings. In this case a recording can be shared with the Augmenta team so we can have a look at the data and try to find out which filters should be tweaked.
