Custom mounting options
Here are some options to build your own mounting system on top of the arm
Without the clamp
An option is to have a threaded rod anchored to the ceiling and coming down to the right height. Then a female-female coupler with the radius of the threaded rod on one side and a 1/4” photography thread on the other side, so we can attach the articulated arm.
When tightened properly, this method should be more stable over time than a clamp, as there is no clamp mechanism that can untighten or loose grip over time.
One downside of a threaded rod can be that it is more sensitive to vibration, especially when being particullarely long. Make sure that the vibration from A/C or ventilation does not affect objects anchored to the ceiling.
