👋
This is an overview of the setup phases and good practices for Augmenta deployment
0. Preparation : Sensor initialization & labelling
Requirement : Windows laptop and sensors
Setup the static IP address for each sensor and label them with the corresponding port number. see each individual sensors initialization here :
👉
There is one specific IP address corresponding for each port of the server, see table here :
Line check : Plug each sensor to its corresponding port on the server and check that you are receiving the signal correctly
1. Wiring
Requirement : Access to the space, equipment on site
Install the sensors and server and wire them together.
- Servers should be in the tech room and connected to power, local network and sensors
- Sensors should be hanged, powered (if not POE) and connected to the server (in most cases with a 1-to-1 direct cable connection)
💡
Always label cables coming from each cameras !
2. Setup : Project & sensors calibration
Server startup and sensor data reception
Requirement : Laptop connected to wifi or lan. Physical access to the sensor.
The server should be up and accessible on the network, ideally reachable through wifi from a laptop.
Sensors physical orientation
Requirement : You can see the sensors on the Augmenta web interface with a laptop in front of the sensors. You have physical access to the sensors.
Visualize each sensor and orient them correctly according to the plan. When there is an overlap, be sure to see the person or object you want to track on both sensors at the same time. If it’s for people tracking you need to see at least half a person on two sensors to have a correct continuity of data.
Project setup and sensors calibration
- Setup your scene in the web interface
- Align the sensors together and apply masks
- Setup the filters and processing parameters for the detection and tracking
- Prepare the output for the content machines

3. Calibration : Physical space calibration & fine tuning
Requirement : Audiovisual system working and correctly calibrated, with a test content displayed to calibrate with the physical space and adjust smooth and prediction.
Physical space calibration
A two point calibration to align all sensors with two points in space. (easier with a video projection, other wise done with manual measurement)
Fine tuning
Adjust the smooth and prediction until visually satisfied
